Our old hot water heater corroded and sprung a leak, so we had to buy something to replace it. The Tempra 36 we bought is working wonderfully. It took some time (electric company was slow) to upgrade the electrical panel to support the Tempra 36, but we are adding on to our home in the next couple of years anyway.
